    We have an immediate opening for an Audio Visual Design Engineer to join our Michigan office located in Commerce Township. The design engineer will be an integral part of a team dedicated to audio visual system design. We seek individuals with technical aptitude and a great attitude. Ideal candidates must have relevant experience in the audio-visual industry.

    Primary Role

    Create audio-visual systems for board rooms, conference rooms, training centers, collaboration spaces and more based on a review of customers’ needs.

    Detailed Activities

    • Create detailed drawings and proposals
    • Assist with sales opportunities by providing technical expertise and performing site surveys
    • Assist technicians in the field with installations and commissioning as needed
    • Maintain IGI quality expectations
    • Recognize and adjust to customer needs
    • Ability to balance multiple tasks and changing priorities
    • Complete tasks within the allotted time or faster, making effective use of time
    • Effective communication with clients and colleagues

    Qualifications

    • Associates or bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
    • Minimum of 2 years design experience within the corporate audio/visual industry
    • Knowledge of audio, video, and control systems as well as architectural and cabling requirements
    • Knowledgeable with Crestron and AMX
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Visio and D-tools a plus)
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as professional appearance
    • Valid driving license and clean driving record
    • Must be located AND authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

    Certifications (a plus but not required)

    • AVIXA CTS (CTS-D, CTS-I)
    • Dante Level 1 and 2
    • Biamp Tesira
    • Crestron DigitalMedia (DMC-D, DMC-E)

    Travel

    Rare if any local or out of state/overnight travel.

    Work Hours

    Normal work hours for the Audio Visual Design Engineer job are Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

    Pay

    Salary range is $67,000 - $90,000 depending on experience.

    IGI focuses primarily on three key segments of the AV space: 1) Advanced Visualization, 2) Advanced Audio-Visual Integration, and 3) Corporate AV Integration.

    Advanced Visualization projects involve the design, engineering, fabrication and building of large scale, high-resolution visualization systems for the Fortune 50 and U.S. Military. These technology solutions include PowerWalls, virtual reality (VR) Rooms, and immersive stereo/3D technologies including motion capture labs.

    Advanced Audio-Visual Integrations projects consist of large dvLED and other LED video wall solutions, control rooms, and other complex, sophisticated solutions.
